About the Project:
The maritime education and training programmes do not contain the essential trainings for understanding energy policies under MARPOL Annex 6 and evaluating the energy saving applications and technologies, which led to staffs realizing this only by practical experience in their job applications associated energy efficiency and thus frequently selecting wrong options.
The MarEd project will offer such training for the correct application of the international regulations for ship energy efficiency in order to fill energy skills gaps and barriers within the education system of seafarers and shore based personnel. Also, an assessment tool will be developed to test and grade the level of the users’ new skills and knowledge acquired form MarEd Online Training Course.
