02.04.2021
The 5th Partner Meeting of "MarED (Maritime Education for Energy Efficiency)" project (Erasmus + KA2 Strategic Partnership for vocational education and training) and its 2nd local workshop were held online on 30 March and 01 April 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions. The meeting and workshop were hosted by the project partner, A.P.&A.
The representatives from Türk Loydu, İstanbul Technical University, Orka Informatics, Calmac Ferries Ltd, A.P.&A. Limited and University of Strathclyde evaluated the training modules and planned task distribution for effective project management.
The Workshop has been carried out with 46 participants from local and international academic institutions, seafarers, national administrations and representatives of the partnership. The feedback from the participants will actively inform the refinement of the project outputs. The Workshop also provided a valuable opportunity to promote the project to industry and to engage the attendees with the project aims.
The MarEd project will offer training for the correct application of the international regulations for ship energy efficiency in order to fill energy skills gaps and barriers within the education system of seafarers and shore based personnel. Also, an assessment tool will be developed to test and grade the level of the users’ new skills and knowledge acquired form MarEd Online Training Course.
