The LCT ship QL80 FUWAIRIT, built for the Qatar Navy at Anadolu Shipyard within the framework of Türk Loydu Naval Ship Class Rules, was launched with a ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by the directors of Türk Loydu, Commander of the Naval Forces Admiral Adnan Özbal, Commander of the Naval Forces of Qatar Emirate Major General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Sulaiti, Deputy Chairman of Barzan Holding Abdulla Al Khater, Chairman of the Project Committee Brigadier Khalid Al Ruwaili, Chairman of the Board of Anadolu Shipyards Süalp Ömer Ürkmez and representatives of the maritime industry.
The production of one LCT (Landing Craft Tank), two LCM40 (Landing Craft Mechanized 40) and one LCVP (Landing Craft Vehicle & Person hand) ships, which are foreseen for the needs of the Qatar Navy, are being built at Anadolu Shipyard in accordance with Türk Loydu class rules.
The hull of the QL80 FUWAIRIT Landing Craft is made of high-strength steel, and the superstructure is bulletproof. The ship is still under construction and it has all the necessary high-tech equipment. The landing ship, which is under construction under the control of Türk Loydu, was designed as approximately 80 meters in length, 11,70 meters in width and 1,156 tons.
Equipped for a total of 25 personnel, the ship with a maximum speed of 18 knots will be able to carry 3 tanks, military vehicles of different types and sizes, or 260 fully equipped infantry, in addition to 25 personnel. The LCT vessel QL80 FUWAIRIT will be able to stay at sea for 7 days without refueling and will have a range of more than 1,500 nautical miles. The ship, which has 2 30 mm and 2 12.7 mm stabilized guns manufactured by Aselsan, can be used for logistic support and natural disaster relief, apart from military missions. Within the scope of the same contract, the production of two 40-meter LCM and a 15.7-meter LCVP vessel continues.
