Scope of the works of “National Maritime Safety Documentation and Information Center” established in 1998 related to maritime safety and environmental protection are; continuously participating in the meetings of international organizations especially IMO (International Maritime Organization), following and documenting all kinds of publications of IMO and  Classification Societies  and other related national and international institutions, translating the required ones into Turkish, distribution to sector together with all of the required interpretations and explanations, keeping them ready for use by the persons concerned and creating a data bank for the issues about its aim.

Participation in the IMO meetings are provided within this scope and periodical publications related to new IMO rules and amendments are prepared and presented to the sector.
