Certification of Pressure Equipment

Directive 2014/68/EU covers the design, production and conformity assessment procedures and principles of pressure equipment and fittings with a maximum allowable pressure greater than 0,5 bar.

The purpose of the 2014/68/EU directive is to guarantee free circulation in EU countries and Türkiye as of the date of entry into force according to the Customs Union Agreement.

Notified bodies are semi-official or private institutions designated by member states (including Türkiye, although not a member of the Customs Union Agreement) for the approval and monitoring of the manufacturer's quality system and/or direct product inspection. In order for these institutions to be approved, their names, identification numbers and duties must be published in the Official Journal of European Union.

Conformity assessment of pressure equipment can only be performed by an approved institution.
