Recreational Craft and Components
The CE marking, meaning "Conformity to Europe," indicates that products sold within the EU have been inspected/evaluated according to minimum safety, health, and environmental protection requirements. For any product to bear the CE mark, it must meet the requirements of the relevant regulation. Depending on the risk factor, the control of some products is left to the manufacturer, while for other products, Notified Bodies authorized and given an identification number by the EU, are appointed for control.
In this sense, in the maritime sector, at Turk Loydu, we offer an Authorized Organization services with the authority to issue certificates under the 2013-53-EU Recreational Craft Directive (NB 1785) for boats between 2.5 meters and 24 meters in length, personal watercraft, and certain components.
The TÜRK LOYDU EU Conformity Assessment Application Form will be sent to the applicant, considering the type, size, and selected module of the recreational craft or component for which the conformity assessment is to be made.
Following the written confirmation of the conformity assessment application's approval, the Agreement for Conformity Assessment Services is prepared. Upon signing, the necessary procedures are carried out according to the Product Certification Program.
- In the first step of the conformity assessment, the Technical File will be sent to TURK LOYDU via EPAS (Electronic Plan Approval System) for evaluation. The Technical File will be evaluated by TURK LOYDU as per the regulations and relevant harmonized standards.
- The recreational craft or its components are inspected on-site for compliance with the Technical File, and necessary tests are conducted. After completing the inspections, trials, and tests according to the applied module, a report or a certificate is prepared. This report/certificate includes details of the inspections, trials, and tests conducted; references to the relevant harmonized standards; and evidence of the craft's compliance with these standards. A copy of this report/certificate is given to the applicant.
The application for the CE Compliance evaluation of the Recreational Craft will be made by completing the CE Conformity Assessment Application Form.
