Transfer of Class

Turk Loydu (TL), being a member of IACS (International Association of Class Societies), provides a simple and fast service during transferring vessels and applies IACS Quality Procedures during the conduct of Transfer of Class (TOC) surveys.

Some highlights of the TOC process are as follows:

Request

TL Head Office may be approached through toc@turkloydu.org for request of classification using the following form:

CL1002 - Existing Ship Classification Application Form

A risk assessment will then be carried out for the vessel considering ship's type, age and service history along with actual survey status and conditions or recommendations. For ESP vessels over 15 years and other vessels over 20 years of age may be subject to a condition survey to complement the risk assessment process.

TOC Surveys

In order to minimize the costs, surveys can be planned in line with periodical surveys and at the most convenient place of attendance. Attending Surveyors are thoroughly instructed by Turk Loydu Head Office for smooth and efficient surveys to be carried out. Preparation of holds and tanks for inspection before the attendance on board, plays a crucial role for completion of surveys on time.

Plans

In order to comply with IACS Procedures, certain list of plans and necessary technical information will be submitted to Turk Loydu. TL has an electronic plan approval system (EPAS) which may be used by Owners for online submittal of plans.

Certification

Upon satisfactory completion of TOC Surveys an Interim Classification Certificate and appropriate statutory certificates will be issued to enable vessel to trade immediately. Full term Class Certificate can be issued within the interim period provided all necessary plans and information submitted.
