SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH COUNCIL OF TURKEY (TUBITAK) WILL PROVIDE GRANT SUPPORT TO TURK LOYDU PROJECT
09.11.2021

TUBITAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey), the leading authority for management, funding and conduct of research in Turkey will provide grant support to the "3-Dimensional Ship Structural Analysis System Project with Finite Element Method" with a budget of 2.5 million TL, which will be developed together with Türk Loydu and Mesh Engineering.

With the "3D Ship Structural Analysis System with the Finite Element Method", the needs of the organizations working on ship structural analysis will be met, and a software will be produced for the structural analysis of ships to be built according to Türk Loydu class rules.

With the project to be supported by Tübitak, it is expected that the capacity in ship design, modeling and structural analysis, which has been increasing in our country in recent years, will reach world standards and this situation will affect the increase in the number of ships to be built according to Türk Loydu rules.

Given the pace of technological progress today, R&D projects have become an important position for companies to stay competitive. In recent years, our country's maritime industry, including Türk Loydu, has started high-tech projects, and this has increased our need for technological tools for rule development and classification. The knowledge and skills that will be gained when the "3D Ship Structural Analysis System Project with Finite Element Method" is completed will contribute to the national knowledge and technological development of our country. In addition, we believe that this software, which will be developed for commercial or military shipbuilding, will set an example for other organizations in our country.

Türk Loydu R&D Center was officially recognised as an “Accredited R&D Center” by the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology at the beginning of the year 2020. Within the scope of Türk Loydu R&D Center studies, currently 52 R&D personnel are working on 8 R&D Projects to provide technological and innovative solutions that may be beneficial to the sectors served by Türk Loydu, especially for the maritime and defense industry.
